We have been dealing with Talbot Insurance Services for over 20 years, pretty much since inception. We have purchased house, condo, vehicle, travel trailer, RV and travel insurance. Each and every product has been sold to us with the utmost of industry experience and service. Explanations are provided, questions answered and exemplary service has been at the forefront of all our dealings. Few people exemplify professionalism to the level that Laurie Forshner-Talbot does. She sets a standard to which her staff excel at while providing this level of service to their clients. That has always been our experience even when it has been new staff who at times have had to get back to us with answers. I would not hesitate to recommend Talbot Insurance to anyone. You could do no better than to get your insurance needs attended to by an Agency dedicated to, and with a long standing in, the community.
Weve seen a few people there and always leave with conflicting information from what someone else there told us. We recently had an issue with our driver discount from ICBC and were basically told they couldnt do anything. I wont be going back for my car insurance. The people down at ICBC in Gibsons really know their stuff and had the problem sorted out ASAP.
Everything is fine when you are buying insurance. When you require something it's a whole different story. They did not stand by their word even when I had them saying in writing they would. The agent was so arogant I just couldn't believe it. Was in no way what's ever was remorseful about their broken promise. The owner was much more pleasant but unfortunately would not stand behind the commitments the agent made nor acknowledged the agents behaivor. I was disappointed by this. The false assurances will cost me in the end but I am glad I had the chance to see how they really respond before something bigger happened. Based on this poor experience I switched to a different local insurance company because of this.Further to this review: I read the business response. I did speak with the owner to try and resolve the issue. Even after I had email confirmation of their commitment they failed to honour it. Misleading to give them a star as there is no choice for zero stars. If there was an independant insurance arbitration entity that could force Talbot to honour what they claimed they would do I would use it. So if they want to leave that information in the comments section I would certainly follow respect the independent review outcome. If there is no such entity than they can continue to do to others what they did to me. My partners name was on the account....
