Went for breakfast on the 12th and the waitress was amazing. Polite, refreshed our beverages in a timely manner, checked on us with a smile. Lovely view. Only suggestion was to cook the over easy eggs for a few seconds longer to insure parts of it were not still raw, as 2 of the 3 people had. Will definitely recommend Mollys Reach and i will be back for sure :)
Usually when I've been to these types of places it's hyped up and more nostalgia than anything. But the food and service here were actually really good. I had the seafood chowder with MASSIVE pieces of salmon in it. Totally awesome and made the trip to the Sunshine Coast that much better.
Neat place because of the history but food was over priced and underwhelming. I had the fish tacos and salad. For $18.00 you only got 2 small flavourless tacos and one choice of dressing for the salad. The salad consisted of tough lettuce, parsley, diced cucumber and some red onion. My dining companions were not thrilled with their mesls either. There was no dessert option because the baker was apparently on holiday. I can now say that I ate at Molly's Reach, but I wouldn't do it again.
Very disappointed. They had a great review through Google so I was expecting something to be excited about. It seems the only thing about this place had going was the show The Beachcomber which was filmed in the eighties. Not sure why it has so many great reviews. Im guessing the breakfast would be pretty good. We ordered the Calamari as an appy which was good but it was priced at $15. I thought high considering the portion size. The main dish I had was the Persephone burger which I found to be lacklustre. It tasted like a frozen patty and the other elements were just lame. Would go back for breakfast to see if that is any good but no interest in going back for the burgers.
We had a group of 14 people. When we got to the restaurant it wasn't even busy. But 2 of the waitresses simply said that they do not have a table for such a large crowd. So we told them that we do not need to sit together and they can put us into different tables since there are still spaces in the restaurant. Then one of the waitress just looked at us bluntly and said they just cannot accommodate us. So much for wanting to try out this restaurant. Even if the food is 10 stars rating, my friends and I will never go back to this unfriendly service restaurant.
