Awesome food, great service, good price, but hot environment during summer months.
I'm sad to say this was not a good experience. Perhaps I got unlucky and stopped in on an off day for the chef. The Katsu Don was a bowl of sheer sadness. Filled with an exceptionally soggy pork cutlet, some soaking wet shredded cabbage and egg. To make matters worse the whole thing was drowning in sauce in Titanic like fashion. The tempura was a soft and doughy like consistentency, it seemed to be underdone. We also ordered some salmon avocado rolls which were passable at best, fish didn't seem very fresh. Was really hoping for a decent Japanese meal here in Gibson's, but this one missed the mark by a long ways. I will say the service was friendly no complaints there.
Wonderful selection and great quality sushi and sashimi. The sashimi salad is amazing! Prompt service for a large party of guests.
We were hungry at 8pm last night. Did a quick takeout of their donburri bowls, one salmon and the other was chicken teriyaki. Added the yummy appetizer of veggie roll with the shitake mushrooms capped with those delicate red beet threads. If you have shied away from all veggie rolls, alas, this one is a must try it. The salmon was sweet and delicious and the chicken teriyaki was good. This was the first time we did takeout here. Prior experiences were dine-in. Takeout was great.
Great restaurant open for a lunch or dinner. This is a super convenient location if you are in upper Gibsons at work or shopping. Decor is relaxed and service is friendly, and really quick. The Bento Box is one of my favourites!
